There are two signatures of students with date stamps near the names on the front free end page. There is quite a bit of rubbing of the covers and shelfwear to the edges of the covers. Pages are clean otherwise. ; Textbook; ; 526 pages; Like the first edition of Teaching Them to Read, this second one is for elementary school teachers. Because my other methods textbook (Teaching Young Children to Read) has been available since 1972 to help those who work with nursery school, kindergarten, and first grade children, this second edition does a little less with beginning reading and much more with what comes after that. Nevertheless, Teaching Them to Read continues to cover the whole of an elementary school program and still includes a chapter on reading in the kindergarten. As with the first edition, the aim with this one has been to provide specific practical help.
