Book if good shape, although the cover is offwhite, with some edgewear and some soiling. A name and address is inscribed on the title page. Otherwise, the pages appear to be clean. Included with this book, is the "Duplicating Masters File" for this book. ; 262 pages; The McCabe Reading Program provides a structured, developmental program for teaching reading to older non-readers at all levels. The entire program is presented in 123 sequential daily lesson plans which are conveniently organized into two level-units. Level 1 presents the first 75 lessons in the program and Level 2, the remaining 48 lessons. Reproducible student worksheets and "story readings" accompany the lessons and are also available from the publisher in a separate duplicating masters file for each level. The program is designed to teach reading to students who are reading on a first-grade or low second-grade level but who are nine years old or older. The first lessons are on a first-grade level. By the time the student finishes the program, he will be reading stories on a fourth-grade level. The program is designed to be used with small groups. Many remedial reading programs seem to be effective only on a one-to-one basis in a tutorial situation. This is unrealistic for the classroom teacher. The McCabe Reading Program is primarily designed to be used with small groups of students.
